INDEPENDENT LEADERSHIP FOR THE CENTRAL COAST

A BUSINESS OWNER TO BUILD A STRONGER ECONOMY

As a successful business owner and past president of the South County Economic Development Association, Katcho knows what it means to create jobs, retain jobs and meet a payroll.
That is why Supervisor Achadjian has helped implement policies that help businesses grow while creating jobs and protecting existing ones.
In the Assembly, he will continue to promote job growth and job friendly policies while aiming to create incentives for local businesses to expand and provide additional job opportunities.
As a long time member of the Chamber of Commerce and Farm Bureau, Katcho will push to:

  1. Reduce regulatory compliance costs while making more flexible existing regulation to keep more good jobs on the Central Coast.
  2. Reform liability insurance to cap injury related compensation.
  3. Keep down taxes and fees on those who create jobs.
  4. Increase support for our agricultural and tourism economies.

REAL BUDGET REFORM

As our Assemblyman, Katcho will reject accounting tricks, excessive borrowing and the reckless overspending that has fueled irresponsible state budget deficits.
He will fight to make state government live within its means and push for real reform so that the state balances its budget on time – every year.
He will push for tough reforms that cut costs and make Sacramento more accountable to taxpayers by working to:

  1. Eliminate statewide departments that duplicate county and city services.
  2. Fight for a spending cap to limit government spending each year to a formula based on population and inflation.
  3. Require a rainy day fund so that California never spends itself dry again.
  4. Encourage multiyear budget planning to reduce boom and bust budget cycles.
  5. Require the state auditor to conduct regular performance audits of state programs.

A PROVEN CRIME-FIGHTER

In the Assembly, Katcho will fight to save millions of dollars by pushing to deport illegal immigrants who commit violent crimes so we do not spend millions keeping them in our jails.

As County Supervisor, Katcho worked shoulder-to-shoulder with law enforcement to protect our community by adding deputies and strengthening anti-gang programs.
Personally and through his businesses, Katcho supported the Drug Abuse Resistance Education program (D.A.R.E.), to keep kids off of drugs.

In the Assembly he will continue his strong support for public safety programs and take all actions necessary to keep our families safe

PROVEN LEADERSHIP FOR BETTER SCHOOLS

Katcho knows how critical education is to success in America.
That is why he has volunteered hundreds of hours at high schools and community colleges to support their goals and address their needs.
In the Assembly, he will push for reforms that improve academic performance and get the most for our tax dollars. He will work to:

  1. Require that tax dollars spent on schools get into the classroom and are not wasted on Sacramento bureaucracy.
  2. Give schools the power to save tax dollars by contracting out for non-academic services such as student transportation and landscaping.
  3. Empower local school boards and school principals with more authority to determine how school funds are spent.

Demand that every student have the reading and writing skills in English they need before they graduate.
